Textile Art

Textile art is where my background in both textile and visual arts comes together. For many years, I created wedding dresses, but I always felt a desire to connect drawing and sewing more directly.

Inspired by how Henri Matisse described his work as “drawing with scissors,” I began to think of sewing as a way to draw. In my work, I use a sewing machine to translate drawings onto fabric, using wool and thread to create expressive, painting-like images.

There are endless possibilities within this process, and I feel I am still exploring and discovering new dimensions of it. It is very much a work in progress - an evolving journey between line, texture, and form.
